▶ Stepy llegó a la perrera en junio de 2022 y tenía aproximadamente 1 año de edad a su llegada. Él es un mestizo que fue recogido de la calle por Zoosanitario, perdido o abandonado y traído a la perrera.

Hay casos que nos gustaría adivinar o entender, ¿cómo estos perros terminan en la perrera? Y precisamente esto nos gustaría saber del pequeño y dulce Stepy.

Llegó castrado y aún ¡con las grapas!

Pánico absoluto, tardamos más de 30 minutos para conseguir que se moviera. Y no tiene chip.

Hemos descubierto un verdadero amor detrás de ese miedo que tenía cuando llegó y que solo tiene 12 meses.

Ahora ya no tiene pánico, ahora sabe que lo queremos, está seguro y hasta quiere jugar.....

Deciembre 2022:Stepy fue en acogida debido al riesgo de que la perrera se inundara.

Después de 5 meses, Stepy todavía está con su familia de acogida, pero ya no pueden tenerlo. Volverá a una jaula de cemento… Esto nos cuentan de él: "Stepy es un perro ideal para la familia, sólo quiere estar contigo todo el tiempo e irá a dónde tú quieras ir. Stepy es bueno en la casa, sabe entretenerse y trata de que los demás perros jueguen con él. Está tan feliz de jugar como de relajarse y pasa parte del día durmiendo. Adora los juguetes… Muchos juguetes, le gustan todos y lo demuestra sacándolos todos de la caja para que cuando llegues a casa del trabajo juegues y los vuelvas a meter todos en la caja.

Hay momentos en los que lo pasa mal, como muchos perros abandonados, y sufre ansiedad por separación, pero es simplemente porque no entiende que te volverá a ver en unas horas. Por eso tiene tantos juguetes, pero si encuentra algo más entretenido o masticable, probablemente lo coja, así que hay que tener mucho cuidado. Le encanta salir a pasear y no tira de la correa ni se pone nervioso cuando ve a otros animales, le encanta hacer nuevos amigos y juega bien con perros grandes y pequeños. No importa cuántos haya, sólo quiere correr y jugar con ellos. Y cuando haya tenido suficiente, vendrá y se sentará a tu lado para avisarte.

Vio un gato por primera vez el otro día y estaba muy intrigado con él, pero no trató de atacarlo. Ama a las personas, tanto a los adultos como a los niños, pero le gusta esperar antes de acercarse a una nueva persona hasta ver que no lo van a lastimar. ¡A Stepy le encanta comer y bebe agua como si se estuviera bañando en ella! Le encanta recibir golosinas y las he usado para ayudar a entrenarlo. Él ya sabe todo lo básico. Es genial en el coche, si intenta subirse al asiento delantero, sólo tienes que decirle que no y vuelve a su sitio. Le asustan un poco los ruidos fuertes, pero no mucho, porque sus hermanos de acogida le muestran que no hay nada que temer. Stepy es un perro que necesita mucho amor y da ese mismo amor. Siempre que puede, vendrá a verte y pondrá su cabeza en tu regazo, como diciendo 'Aquí estoy, dame amor...' Le gusta dormir en la misma habitación si es posible y, una cosa es segura, es que si alguien está en casa con él, se siente como si hubiera ganado la lotería. Necesita estar cansado antes de que salgas de la casa para que duerma y no piense en cuánto tiempo pasará antes de que regreses. Realmente es un perro perfecto y si pudiera quedármelo lo haría, pero vivir en un piso con 3 perros grandes es muy complicado. No puede volver a vivir en una jaula, sufrirá mucho estando solo. Su verdadera pasión es estar con una familia, es fácil ver esto."

▶ Stepy arrived at Los Barrios pound in June 2022 and was about 1 year old on arrival. He is a gorgeous cross breed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.

There are times when we wonder, and really wish we knew the answer; how on earth did this dog end up at the pound? And this is precisely the case with sweet little Stepy. He arrived castrated, yet with no chip, and he still had the staples from the castration!

He was in absolute panic, and it took us more than 30 minutes to get him to move. Now, with a bit of time, we have seen more of his true self emerge and he is a real sweetie. He doesn’t panic anymore; he knows he is safe with us and even wants to play… just like a young dog should.

December 2022: Stepy went into foster due to the pound flooded.

After 5 months Stepy is still with his foster family, and they tell us this about him: “Stepy is an ideal family dog, he just wants to be with you all the time and will go wherever you want to go.

Stepy is good in the house, he knows how to entertain himself and tries to get the other dogs to play with him, but never goes too far with them. He is as happy to play as he is to relax and spends part of the day sleeping.

He adores toys… lots of toys, he likes them all and demonstrates this by taking them all out of the toy box so that when you get back home from work you play and put them all back in the box.

There are times when he has a hard time, like many abandoned dog, and he suffers separation anxiety, but it is simply because he doesn’t understand that he will see you again in a few hours. This is why he has so many toys, but if he finds something more entertaining or chewable, he will probably take it, so you have to be very careful.

He loves to go on a walk and doesn’t pull on the lead or get nervous when he sees other animals, he loves making new friends and plays well with big and small dogs. It doesn’t matter how many there are, he just wants to run and play with them. And when he’s had enough, he will come and sit next to you to let you know.

He saw a cat for the first time the other day and was very intrigued by it, but he didn’t try to attack it. He loves people, adults and children alike, but likes to wait before approaching a new person until he sees that they aren’t going to hurt him.

Stepy loves eating and drinks water like he is bathing in it! He absolutely loves getting treats and I have used these to help train him. He already knows all the basics.

He is great in the car, if he tries to get into the front seat, you just need to tell him no and he goes back to his place. He is a little frightened of loud noises, but not much, because his foster siblings show him there is nothing to be afraid of.

Stepy’s a dog that needs a lot of love and gives just as much. Whenever he can, he will come to see you and put his head in your lap, as if to say ‘Here I am, give me love…’ He likes to sleep in the same room if possible and, one thing for sure is that if someone is home with him, he feels like he’s won the lottery. He needs to be tired out before you leave the house so he will sleep and not think about how long it will be before you return.

He really is a perfect dog and if I could keep him, I would, but living in a flat with 3 large dogs is very complicated.

He can’t return to living in a cage, he will really suffer being on his own. His true passion is being with a family, it is easy to see this.”
