▶ Robert llegó a la perrera en junio de 2021 y tenía aproximadamente 3 años de edad a su llegada. Él es un mestizo que fue encontrado vagando por las calles y llevado a la perrera.

¡Él es un chico muy dulce y gentil! Está muy tranquilo en su jaula, pero le encanta si uno de los voluntarios tiene tiempo para visitarlo. Le encantan los abrazos y prefiere sentarse en tu regazo si es posible. ¡Un verdadero amor!

Robert siempre espera que lo elijan para salir a pasear. En los paseos no parece molestarle los coches, ni las personas ni los perros que pasan. Le encanta revolcarse en la hierba y tener un buen rato olfateando - él puede encontrar premios en la hierba alta. Felizmente se detendrá para un buen abrazo o un premio.

Un domingo en Abril 2022 fue un día emocionante para Robert. Dos voluntarios lo llevaron a una excursión a la ciudad de al lado, para dar un agradable paseo y para conocer cómo él se las arreglaría al estar en otro entorno. ¡Nos sorprendió lo bien que lo hizo! Robert disfrutó cada segundo de libertad fuera de la perrera, se revolcaba en la hierba, olfateaba y olfateaba y no dejaba de mover la cola. No le molestaba el tráfico, ni los niños ruidosos en patinetes, ni la gente y ni los perros que pasaban. ¡se portó muy bien!

Paramos a descansar y tomar un helado a la sombra, pero a Robert no le gustó el que habíamos elegido para él, así que le dimos algunos premios y un buen abrazo, lo que le hizo feliz.

Fue muy difícil llevarlo de vuelta a su jaula después de verlo trotar felizmente por el parque de la ciudad ...

Deciembre 2022: Robert fue en acogida debido la perrera se inundara. Ahora está de vuelta en la perrera en su jaula... solo... Su familia de acogida nos cuenta:

“Es súper bueno, no se hace caca ni pipi en casa, por ahora no ha roto nada ni ha mordido nada de nada. Es supercariñoso, le encantan los mimos. A la hora de salir va muy bien con correa. El único inconveniente que con otros animales no es sociable, pero con niños si. Mi niña está todo el tiempo jugando con el y sin ningún problema. Robert es súper bueno y es muy obediente.

Y sin ningún problema se puede quedar solo en casa.

Si vamos a sacarlo donde puede haber otros perros le ponemos el bozal,porque no nos fiamos porque se avanza a otros perros.”

Cuando Robert regresó a la perrera después de estar en acogida temporal, estaba muy feliz de ver a los voluntarios, pero rápidamente se dió cuenta de a qué estaba volviendo: vivir en una pequeña jaula de continúo con una cama de plástico... Es desgarrador verlo sentado allí, detrás de la cerca mirando a la nada... La mayor parte del día ahora lo verás durmiendo... ¿Ha perdido la esperanza?

▶ Robert arrived at Los Barrios pound in June 2021 and was about 3 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous cross breed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.

He is such a sweet and gentle boy! He is very calm in the cage, but he loves it if one of the volunteers has the time to visit him. He loves cuddles and prefers to sit on your lap if possible. A real sweetheart!

Robert always hopes that he will be chosen to go out for a walk, he loves going out! On walks he does not seem bothered by cars, people or dogs passing by. He loves to roll in the grass and to have a good sniff - he is good at finding treats in the high grass. He will happily stop for a good cuddle or a treat.

A Sunday in April 2022 was an exciting day for Robert. Two volunteers took him for a trip to the local town, to go for a nice walk and get to know how he copes with being in another environment. We were amazed by how well he did! He loved every second of freedom from the pound; he rolled in the grass, was sniffing and sniffing and did not stop wagging his tail. He was not bothered by traffic, noisy children on scooters, people and dogs passing by. He did so well! We stopped to have a rest and an ice cream in the shade, but Robert did not like the one we had chosen for him, so he had some treats and a good cuddle, which made him happy.

He was scared of going in the car, so we had to pick him up and put him in it. He seemed to feel more secure in the backseat next to a person than in the boot. It was so hard to take him back to his cage after seeing him trotting along happily the park in the town...

December 2022: Robert went into foster due to the pound flooded. His foster family told us:

“Robert is super good in the house; he does his business outside and hasn’t destroyed anything at all. He is super affectionate and loves having a cuddle. He walks well on the lead but is not sociable with other dogs. He is great with children though; my little girl plays with him all the time. He really is a very good and obedient dog and can stay at home alone without any problem.”

When Robert came back to the pound after being in foster he was so happy to see the volunteers, but quickly he realised what he was coming back to - living in a tiny concrete cage with a plastic bed… it is heartbreaking to see him sit there behind the fence looking out into nothing… most of the day you will now see him just sleeping… has he given up hope??
