▶ Rapunzel llegó a la perrera en febrero de 2024 y tenía aproximadamente 9 años de edad a su llegada. Ella es una cruce de alano que fue encontrada vagando por las calles y llevada a la perrera.

Rapunzel es una chica mayor que llegó a nosotros en mal estado, sin embargo, de alguna manera, logra mover su cola. Ha sido diagnosticada con Leishmania y está recibiendo tratamiento. Abandonada a los 9 años, sus ojos cansados reflejan una vida llena de tristeza.

En la perrera, se encuentra confinada en una jaula con otros perros que también fueron abandonados...

Marzo 2024 - Rapunzel fue puesta en acogida porque la perrera está en riesgo de inundarse debido a las fuertes lluvias. La familia de acogida nos da esta actualización sobre ella después de 4 semanas en acogida:

¡Es un verdadero amor! Rapunzel es una dama mayor gentil y cariñosa, increíblemente tranquila y fácil de llevar. Hasta ahora ha pasado la mayor parte del tiempo durmiendo (y ronca bastante 😅).

Se puede quedar sola sin ningún problema; no ha ladrado ni una vez desde que llegó y no ha mordido nada. Camina bien con la correa, aunque puede sentirse un poco abrumada si hay mucho tráfico, por lo que probablemente preferiría un hogar que no esté en el centro de una ciudad muy concurrida. Le gusta ir en coche y se acomoda en el asiento trasero, sentándose tranquilamente y mirando por la ventana.

Un día fuimos a almorzar a un restaurante, y ella se tumbó tranquilamente a mi lado, saludando felizmente a todo el personal que quería acariciarla. Más tarde fuimos a la playa. Al principio parecía un poco cautelosa con el mar, pero rápidamente ganó confianza y se aventuró en las olas. Es fácil tenerla alrededor.

Se lleva bien con mi perro macho, aunque le regañará si intenta jugar con ella; no está para eso. De lo contrario, comparten el sofá o la tumbona sin ningún problema. Comen por separado y tienen sus juguetes para masticar separados también, ya que ella gruñe si él se acerca demasiado.

Adora a mi esposo; cada vez que lo ve, tiene esta adorable sonrisa en su rostro y lo mira como si fuera el único para ella – ¡muy, muy lindo! Estaba muy mal cuando llegó a nosotros, pero está ganando peso y parece sentirse mucho mejor ahora.

Desafortunadamente, solo podemos tenerla otro mes, ya que pronto nos iremos de España (a finales de mayo), y temo la idea de que vuelva a la perrera y sea encerrada en esa horrible jaula de nuevo. Parece que ha tenido una vida difícil, realmente merece un hogar amoroso.”

JULIO: Esta encantadora anciana ha florecido en su segundo hogar de acogida tambien, pero necesita un nuevo hogar de acogida a largo plazo o un hogar permanente y amoroso para finales de agosto. Es muy especial para nosotros y necesita a alguien igualmente especial que le proporcione un espacio amoroso y tranquilo para su jubilación, lejos del bullicio pero cerca de algún espacio seguro donde pueda estirar sus patitas.

Rapunzel necesita un hogar para siempre o un hogar de acogida a largo plazo sin niños pequeños, gatos o perros pequeños, ya que puede ser un poco mandona.

▶ Rapunzel arrived at Los Barrios pound in February 2024 and was about 9 years old on arrival. She is a gorgeous alano cross that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.

Rapunzel is an older girl who came to us in rough shape, yet somehow, she manages to her wag of her tail. She's been diagnosed with Leishmania and is getting treatment. Abandoned at the age of 9, her weary eyes betray the agony of a life filled with disappointment and abandonment.

At the pound, she finds herself confined to a cage with other forgotten souls…

Please, help us find Rapunzel a home that will give her the dignity and love she deserves in her twilight years. Let us find her a home where she will feel the warmth of affection and a soft bed, where she can spend her remaining days knowing the love and care she was denied for far too long.

March 2024 - Rapunzel went into foster because the pound is at risk of flooding due to the heavy rain.

The foster gives us this update on her after 4 weeks in foster;

She's an absolute sweetheart!

Rapunzel is a gentle and affectionate senior lady. Incredibly calm and easygoing. So fare she has spent most of her time sleeping (and she snores quite a bit 😅).

She can be left alone without any problems; she hasn’t barked once since she arrived and hasn’t chewed in anything at all.

She walks well on the lead too, she can be a bit overwhelmed if there’s a lot of traffic, so she would probably prefer a home which isn’t in the middle of a busy city. She likes to go in the car and will make herself comfortable on the backseat and sit there quietly looking out of the window.

One day, we went to have lunch at a restaurant, and she calmly laid down next to me, happily greeting all the staff who wanted to cuddle her. Later, we went to the beach. Initially, she seemed a bit wary of the sea, but she quickly gained confidence and ventured into the waves. She is easy to have around.

She gets along well with my male dog, though she will tell him off if he tries to play with her; she's not up for that. Otherwise, they share the sofa or sunbed without any issues. They eat separately and have their chew toys separated too, as she will growl if he gets too close.

She adores my husband; every time she sees him, she has this adorable smile on her face and gazes at him as if he were the only one for her – very, very cute!

She was very poorly, when she came to us, but she is gaining weight, and seems to feel a lot better now.

Unfortunately, we can only keep her for another months, as we soon will be leaving Spain (end of May), and I dread the thought of her returning to the pound and being locked up in that horrible little cage again. It looks like she has had a rough life, she really deserves a loving home.”

JULY: This lovely senior lady has blossomed in her second foster care too but needs a new long-term foster or a permanent loving home by the end of August. She's very special to us and needs someone equally as special to provide a loving, calm space for her retirement, away from any hustle and bustle but near to some secure space she can stretch her little legs!

Rapunzel needs a forever home or a long-term foster home without small children, cats or small dogs, as she can be a bit bossy.
