▶ Helio – ¡que guapo es!

Helio llegó a la perrera en noviembre de 2018 y tenía aproximadamente 2 años de edad a su llegada. Él es un mestizo que fue encontrado vagando por las calles, presumiblemente abandonado…

¡Helio es un chico muy bueno! Le encanta la gente y adora los mimos y también le encanta jugar con personas o con otros perros. Helio vivía en una jaula con su buena amiga Fafy, pero ella ha sido adoptada y Helio actualmente comparte una jaula con un mastín, Dumbo. Durante el día Helio pasa tiempo en el patio con otros perros.

A Helio le encanta salir a pasear, lo que desafortunademente no pasa muy a menudo – realmente él necesita un paseo diario porque ha engordado mucho.

En el paseo él tira un poco con la correa, pero no parece que le molesten los coches, ni los perros y ni las personas que pasan por al lado y su cola simplemente no deja de menearse – ¡le encanta! Luego de vuelta a la perrera…en su jaula…se ve muy triste cuando se sienta allí mirando a través de las barras de su jaula... Él está esperando y esperando a alguien que le ofrezca la vida que se merece y que anhela...

DECIEMBRE DE 2021: ¡Helio estaba muy emocionado de salir de su jaula y hacer un viaje en coche! Él saltó directamente al maletero del coche, sorprendiéndonos con su agilidad y sus ganas. Se portó genial durante el viaje en coche; tranquilo y relajado y de vez en cuando saltaba para echar un vistazo por la ventana y disfrutar de la sensación de la brisa en su cara.

Cuando llegamos y salimos del coche, Helio tenía la sonrisa más grande en su cara. Comprensiblemente, él tiró con la correa al principio, ya que tenía curiosidad por explorar su nuevo entorno, sin embargo, caminaba mejor con la correa después de un corto tiempo y se detenía cada vez que te detenías. De hecho, si te sentabas, él se sentaba a tu lado sin que se lo dijeran. ¡¡Qué buen chico!!

Helio no se molestó en absoluto por el ajetreo y el bullicio del pueblo, ni siquiera por los grandes camiones que pasaban cerca de él. Él mostró interés en los perros que vio, pero fue fácil conseguir que siguiera caminando ya que no estaba interesado en acercarse a ellos. ¡¡Y su cola nunca dejó de moverse!! A veces era solo de un lado a lado normal y otras veces movía la cola como un helicóptero. Era obvio ver lo mucho que disfrutaba este chico feliz de su corto tiempo fuera de la perrera, y realmente nos impresionó con lo bien que se comportó.

Ver lo bien que se adaptó de inmediato a estar en el "mundo real" después de 3 años en una jaula fue inspirador verlo y nuestros corazones se rompieron un poco cuando él no quiso salir del coche de vuelta a la perrera, ya que sabía que iba a volver a su vida de confinamiento en una jaula. Este chico es impresionante, cariñoso y feliz merece mucho más, y nos lo demostró hoy al mostrarnos que puede ser el mejor chico si alguien solo le da una oportunidad....

20/8-22: Helio disfrutó mucho de su salida a TiendAnimal hoy!! Iba perfecto en el coche y se lo pasaba en grande olfateando todas las golosinas de la tienda. Incluso hizo un poco de agilidad 🤩 Estaba feliz de ver a sus amigos de la perrera allí y su cola nunca dejó de mover. Es tan buen chico 💙

▶ Helio - What a stunner!!!

Helio arrived at Los Barrios pound in November 2018 and was about 2 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous cross breed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.

Helio is such a good boy! He absolutely adores people and having cuddles, he also loves playing with people or other dogs. Helio lived in a cage with his good friend Fafy, but she has been adopted and so now Helio lives in the cage with Dumbo a mastin male. During the day Helio goes out on the patio with other dogs.

Helio loves to go out for walks which unfortunately does not happen very often - he could really do with daily walks as he has gotten too overweight. On a walk he pulls a bit on the lead, but he does not seem bothered by people, cars and other dogs passing by, and his tail just does not stop wagging - he loves it!! Then back at the pound… in his cage... He looks so sad when he sits there looking through the bars... He is waiting and waiting for that someone who will offer him the life he deserves and longs for...

DECEMBER 2021: After 3 long years behind bars, Helio got to leave the pound for a couple of hours and go to the local town.

Helio was so excited to get out of his cage and go for a car ride! He jumped right into the boot of the car, surprising us with his agility and eagerness. He was great during the car ride; calm and relaxed and every so often would jump up to have a look out the window and enjoy the feel of the breeze on his face.

When we arrived and got out of the car, he had the biggest smile on his face. Understandably, he pulled on the lead at first, as he was curious to explore his new surroundings, however, he walked better on the lead after a short while and would stop whenever you stopped. In fact, if you sat down, he would sit next to you without even being told to. Such a good boy!!

Helio wasn’t fazed at all by the hustle and bustle of the town, not even by big trucks driving close to him. He showed interest in the dogs that he saw, but it was easy to get him to keep on walking as he wasn’t interested in approaching them. And his tail never stopped wagging!! Sometimes it was just a normal happy side to side wag and other times it flew around like a helicopter. It was obvious to see how much this happy boy was enjoying his short time out of the pound, and he truly impressed us with how well-behaved he was.

Seeing how well he immediately adapted to being in the ‘real world’ after 3 years in a cage was inspiring to see and our hearts broke a little when he didn’t want to get out of the car back at the pound as he knew he was going back to his life of confinement in a cage.

This stunning, affectionate, happy boy deserves so much more, and he proved it to us today by showing us that he can be the best boy if someone just gives him a chance….

20/8-22 Helio went to an event in TiendaAnimal: Helio thoroughly enjoyed his outing to TiendAnimal today!! He was perfect in the car and had a great time sniffing all the goodies in the shop. He even did a bit of agility 🤩 He was happy to see his friends from the pound there and his tail never stopped wagging. He was such a good boy 💙
